Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool on sheet for 5 minutes before transferring.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- Dough can be frozen for up to 3 months.
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake.
