Description

A hearty beef casserole made with tender beef, vegetables, and rich gravy.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g beef, cubed
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Heat oil in a pan and brown the beef cubes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté onions and garlic until soft.
  4. Add carrots and potatoes, cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in tomato paste and flour.
  6. Pour in beef stock and bring to a simmer.
  7. Return beef to the pan, add thyme, salt, and pepper.
  8. Transfer to a casserole dish and bake for 1.5 hours.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use a slow cooker for tender meat.
  • Add mushrooms for extra flavor.
