Description

A hearty and comforting dish made with ground meat, vegetables, and topped with creamy mashed potatoes, cooked slowly for rich flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb or beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, carrots, and garlic. Cook until softened.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, peas, salt, and pepper.
  4. Transfer mixture to a slow cooker.
  5. Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the top.
  6. Sprinkle with cheese if using.
  7. Cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can use ground turkey for a lighter version.
  • Make sure the mashed potatoes cover the filling completely.
