- 1 pound ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion, carrots, and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, peas, salt, and pepper.
- Transfer mixture to a slow cooker.
- Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle with cheese if using.
- Cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- You can use ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Make sure the mashed potatoes cover the filling completely.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
