- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and sugar.
- Add water and bring the sauce to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve over cooked spaghetti.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, omit the ground beef or replace it with lentils.
- You can add mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
