Description

A classic Salisbury steak recipe with rich gravy, perfect for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Form into oval patties.
  3. Heat butter and oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté onions until soft.
  6. Add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  7. Mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the broth to thicken.
  8. Return patties to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for best results.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
