A simple cinnamon roll recipe for soft, sweet rolls with a rich cinnamon filling and creamy frosting.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup softened butter (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (for frosting)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions
- Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Stir in flour until dough forms.
- Knead dough for 5 minutes, then let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly, cut into 12 pieces, and place in a greased pan.
- Let rolls rise for 30 minutes, then bake at 375°F for 20 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for frosting. Drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- For fluffier rolls, let the dough rise in a warm place.
- Add nuts or raisins to the filling for extra texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
