Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 strips bacon, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the drained beans and diced onion to the bowl. Stir well.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  5. If using bacon, sprinkle the chopped pieces on top.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until bubbly and slightly thickened.
  7. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, skip the bacon.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
