Description

Crispy and buttery almond cookies that are easy to make.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and almond extract. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Mix until combined.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place on baking sheets and flatten slightly.
  7. Press sliced almonds on top of each cookie.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden.
  9. Cool on wire racks before serving.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
  • You can substitute almond extract with vanilla extract for a different flavor.
