Crispy and buttery almond cookies that are easy to make.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and almond extract. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Mix until combined.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place on baking sheets and flatten slightly.
- Press sliced almonds on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
- You can substitute almond extract with vanilla extract for a different flavor.
