A simple and delicious classic Italian spaghetti sauce made with fresh ingredients.
Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 28 ounces canned crushed tomatoes
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic. Cook until soft.
- Add ground beef. Cook until browned.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve over cooked spaghetti.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of red wine.
- Fresh herbs can replace dried ones if available.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
