Description

A moist and flavorful banana bread with a sweet cinnamon swirl that’s perfect for breakfast or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir into the banana mixture until just combined.
  4. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
  5. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan. Sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it. Repeat with remaining batter and cinnamon-sugar.
  6. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
