- 1 sleeve saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until mixture boils.
- Pour the butter-sugar mixture evenly over the crackers.
- Bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Let stand for 2 minutes, then spread melted chocolate evenly.
- Top with chopped nuts if desired.
- Cool completely before breaking into pieces.
