Description

A simple and fresh Caprese sandwich with ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil leaves. Perfect for a quick lunch.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of fresh bread (ciabatta or sourdough)
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 45 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread slices lightly if desired.
  2. Layer mozzarella slices on one slice of bread.
  3. Add tomato slices on top of the mozzarella.
  4. Place fresh basil leaves over the tomatoes.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Top with the second slice of bread.
  8. Cut in half and serve immediately.
