Ingredients

- 1 lb beef liver, sliced
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter or oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp flour (optional, for coating)
Instructions
- Rinse the beef liver and pat dry with paper towels. Slice into thin strips if not pre-sliced.
- Season the liver with salt, pepper, and paprika. Coat lightly with flour if desired.
- Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and sauté until golden brown and softened. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the liver for 2-3 minutes per side until browned but still tender.
- Return the onions to the skillet and mix with the liver. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Serve hot with your choice of side dishes.
Notes
- Do not overcook the liver to keep it tender.
- Soak the liver in milk for 30 minutes before cooking to reduce any strong taste.
- Pair with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
