Description
Beef Giouvetsi is a traditional Greek dish made with tender beef, orzo pasta, and a rich tomato sauce, slow-cooked to perfection.
Ingredients

- 500g beef, cubed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 400g canned tomatoes
- 200g orzo pasta
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 bay leaf
- 500ml beef stock
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pot and brown the beef cubes.
- Add onion and garlic, cook until soft.
- Stir in tomatoes, oregano, bay leaf, and beef stock. Simmer for 1 hour.
- Add orzo pasta and cook for another 15 minutes until pasta is tender.
- Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
Notes
- Use a heavy pot for even cooking.
- Adjust beef stock if the sauce thickens too much.
- Garnish with grated cheese if desired.
